Willow City Loop

Monday we got up and did some laundry then headed out with the girls in the back seat. We drove north on Hwy 16 through Fredericksburg and towards Llano. About 13 miles north and east is the Willow City Loop which is about 15 miles around.  It is all private ranches so can’t get out and tramp around but the wildflowers were awesome. Never saw as many white Corn Poppies in field after field. Got some great pictures. We were just glad we did not go on Sunday as you probably could not even move for the traffic. As it was we never drove faster than about 10 MPH and followed someone the whole time.  Funny to see so many people out with a cell phone taking pictures!  We never did get lunch so about 3 PM we stopped under 2 big live oaks in the Willow City church parking lot and sat in the shade with Ritz crackers and cheese spread and a cool drink!  Another great day in the Hill Country. Then we returned to By the River Campground in Kerrville and had a quick dinner of ham & salad.
